Accelerating Advanced Manufacturing in Oceania We’re thrilled to announce the official launch of the OMRON Proof of Concept (PoC) Centre — first in Oceania, and the only one globally co-located on a university campus, at Western Sydney University’s Engineering Innovation Hub in Parramatta. This milestone joins OMRON’s global network of 45 Automation Centres and PoC Labs, delivering cutting-edge robotics, AI, IoT, machine vision, and smart manufacturing solutions tailored to local industry needs. At Hogeschool Rotterdam, the cobots are used for a variety of purposes related to education and applied research. These cobots are integrated into the curriculum to help students gain hands-on experience in robotics, automation, and smart manufacturing technologies. Students use the cobots for practical exercises in programming, troubleshooting, and process optimization.

Experience College Rotterdam is a university of applied sciences, with students aged 17 to 25. The institution currently operates four TM AI Cobots. Valk Welding has a strong relationship with this university.  They uses cobots primarily for educational and training purposes. These robots provide students with hands-on experience in automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies. They allow students to learn how to program, operate, and integrate collaborative robots into real-world processes. Cobots are also used in practical demonstrations to show how robotics can enhance efficiency and precision in various industries. The goal is to equip students with the skills needed to work with cutting-edge automation systems, preparing them for careers in the rapidly evolving tech and manufacturing sectors.

Vincennes University

Vincennes University collaborative robot technology gives students a competitive edge

Vincennes University (VU) is a national leader in collaborative robot (cobot) technology, preparing students for careers in industries like manufacturing, medical, and aviation. The university has established the Center for Applied Robotics and Automation (CARA), which houses its largest cobot lab, with support from a Lilly Endowment Inc. grant and in partnership with Telamon Robotics, a key distributor of Techman Robots. VU integrates Techman Robots into its curriculum, helping students gain hands-on experience with cobots that work safely alongside humans. Through this collaboration, VU students will be better prepared for future jobs in Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing. The university’s programs, including Welding, Precision Machining, and Product Design, will feature cobot training to ensure students are equipped with the skills needed to excel in a rapidly changing technological landscape. VU’s partnership with Telamon Robotics supports this initiative, providing students with a competitive edge in the workforce.
